We will be in the water March 28th and starting our season in the Raritan Bay chasing Striped Bass. We will be back down to South Side Marina June 1st.
We killed a 201 pound thresher with the boys from OHIO. fight lasted an hour and we got him to the boat.
Same game plan and we released a blue shark and ended the day killing a 132.5 pound Thresher
Had a few guys up from Missouri and tried to get a thresher, but was pleasantly surprised to get a big Black Tip that was harvested for the dinner table
The time is NOW!!!!The river has been clear again and the bowfishing has been great.
We are in full swing now. First trip of the year was this past weekend, 5-20-23. We had rain all day, but that did not let it stop us from a full boat limit of seabass (80 fish) by lunch time. Seabass season goes until the 19th of June, then it closes, so call me to get in on the action.
The time is NOW!!!! Prior to the endless rain we saw steady action. The carp have started the spawn and are showing in the shallows in good numbers now. The vegetation unfortunately also has begun to grow up, which is expected and something that we work around.
Right now, the water is not clear enough to get out so we will not be running until next week. I expect that once the water clears up the fishing will be on fire!!!
The bottom painting has been completed, The hull has been detailed and the TC is finally in the water!! She still needs a bit of work before getting moved up to Manasquan for the summer, but we are getting close. Soon enough we will be fishing the deep sea for every creature that swims
Had the deadly husband and wife duo come down from Manhattan to shoot some fish. Amazing people and had such a great time. As for the fishing it was SNAKEHEAD SNAKEHEAD SNAKEHEAD... the river seemed to be full of Snakeheads. Lost track of how many we actually shot at. we did see a few carp as well as some catfish. LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR
Had the pleasure of hosting the guys from Fat Guys Fishing. Clarity was a concern going in to the trip, but turned out not to be an issue. The guys shot consistently all night, but only killed a few catfish. Carp were on the scarce side with the majority of the shots being at catfish.
The time is now!!!!! The water has warmed up to a point where we are seeing fish consistently. Last week before Thursday's rain had lots of shots fired from the boat. Not too many hits though.
Wednesdays Trip spiked 2 Common Carp and 4 Catfish. We missed dozens of other carp and catfish. Also missed a JUMBO Snakehead.
The bottom has begun to be painted. we are still on pace to be in the water by May 1st and will be ready for Sportfishing Charters running all trips from Fluke, Seabass, Striped Bass and Tuna, Swordfish and Mahi.
We will be at the Saltwater Fishing expo in Edison NJ. Stop by and see us. We are at booth 654. If your looking for a deepsea fishing charter for Tuna, Swordfish, Tilefish or Mahi. Look no further than finding what you need at this show and yes we offer all these trips as well as wreck fishing, bottom fishing for Fluke, Seabass and striped bass
River temps are now 43.2 with a clarity of 2.. What does that mean..... ITS JUST ABOUT BOWFISHING WEATHER!! Lets Go, there are still a few prime dates available so give me a call.
The bottom of the TCII has just been soda blasted. In the next few weeks we will be giving her a fresh new coat of bottom paint. This is one step closer to go time
Seabass season will begin on May 17th and we will be ready to go
Currently the 38 is on the hard down at Holiday Harbor Marina. We are working to get her ready to go in the water so we can have a great start to the 2023 season. Just a few of the many upgrades that we are doing this season include:
1. soda Blasting and fresh paint on the bottom
2. New Props
3. New Helm Chair
4. New flooring in the salon area
Most importantly we have partnered with Canyon Reels and will be running all new Canyon reels on our Tuna Trips. www.canyonreels.com
We should be in the water by May first and will start Tuna Fishing as soon as some good water spins into our local canyons.
On the Bow Fishing front, we are ready to rock and roll. Right now, the water is a bit cold, but warming fast. With the weather this week 3/13 -3/18 I don't expect to run any trips as the river will most likely be too muddy. But as soon as it clears, we will be out there shooting fish.
